Complex Systems Sustainability & Resilience:
Water + ee

Picture

Water is essential to support human well-being and ecosystem services. With our interdisciplinary research, we want to better understand and characterize the intertwined dynamics of water and other systems (urban, economy, climate, and ecosystems). For our research, we use and search for emergent patterns and properties (using both data and models), and their associated statistical signatures, to synthesize knowledge across systems and scales. We also like to show how such knowledge can be used to inform water-related policy and solve water resource and engineering problems. Our current research revolves around the themes of the food-energy-water nexus, system of systems, environmental sustainability, and network-city-sustainability science. We use diverse mathematical, computational, and data-driven tools, as well as diverse data sources and products, to carry out our studies and projects.
